VPSrobots now supports easy management of MySQL/MariaDB databases through a built-in module called Database (Beta). Situated in the tab bar area on VPSrobots interface, the module gives you quick access to databases and users in your MySQL/MariaDB and allows you to manage them easily in two simple tabbed panes: the Database pane and the User pane. In VPSrobots version 1.1.1, the module launched a new feature that allows for one-click installation and simple configuration of phpMyAdmin on your server.
The Database pane:
The Database pane displays all databases in your MySQL. Each database is equipped with actions you can perform to the database, which includes Edit Privilege, Export, Import, Drop Database.
When you choose Edit Privilege for a database, a window will pop up listing all existing users on the database, along with Host type, Edit and Revoke options for each user. By clicking Edit for a user, you can quickly grant or revoke global privileges to the user in a new window. To revoke all privileges for a user on the database, you can use Revoke button.
Also, the window comes with an Add user button for you to quickly add existing MySQL users to the database and a Create a New user button for you to create a MySQL user and add it to the database, the process will by default grant all privileges to the user to access the database.
Export action allows you to export all tables in the database to you computer in SQL format.
Import action allows you to import the SQL files stored in local to the database.
Drop Database action allows you to delete the database from MySQL.
The User pane:
The User pane shows all existing users in your MySQL, along with the User names and Host types as well as actions you can perform to each user, which includes Edit Privilege, Replace password and Drop User.
When you choose Edit Privilege for a user, a page of global privileges will be brought up, where you can grant and revoke global privileges to the user.
Replace password action allows you to reset the password for the MySQL user.
Drop user action is used to permanently remove the user from your MySQL.
On the top of the two panes, a set of function buttons are placed to help you quickly get started with MySQL database management, the buttons are Quick Creation, Create Database, Create User, Refresh.
Quick Creation button allows quick creation of a new database and user. This is done simply by filling out the database name and user name, password, selecting authority for the user. All privileges to the user on this database will be granted by default during the process and you can change them anytime after the creation.
Create Database button allows you to quickly create a database for MySQL/MariaDB.
Create User button allows you to create a new user for MySQL/MariaDB, you can edit global privileges to the user during the process.
Refresh button is response for refreshing the module to keep the information updated and synchronized in your MySQL/MariaDB. Meanwhile, VPSrobots periodically auto refreshes the module to retrieves the latest data.
Since VPSrobots 1.1.1, the module has been enhanced with a one-click phpMyAdmin installer that allows you to install phpMyAdmin on your server with just one click. Also, it features a pane of GUI that allows you to easily configure and secure phpMyAdmin by performing installation directory and password modification, access restriction.
